We don't have to wait for the premiere to see whether the back of that head is Tom as Robin's father -- this new official, full length trailer unmistakably answers that question. Not only do we see that it is indeed him, we also get some lovely scenes of him with a young Robin learning to shoot a bow and arrow, and the trailer ends with his words of wisdom to his son in voiceover.

The ten episode series premieres with its first two episodes on November 2nd on MGM+.

The official teaser for the new MGM+ series Robin Hood has been released. This new version of the beloved story "brings a modern energy to the classic tale of the roguish outlaw hero who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, and the epic love story between him and a courageous and daring Marian.

A little more information has been gleaned about the new show, from an article posted on TV Insider. 

We can expect a premiere on MGM+ in December, though no exact date has been released, and there will be six 45-minute episodes. So far no set photos have snuck out, but there is always lots of promotion for flashy new shows, so we have that to look forward to in the fall and winter. 

Tom has been cast in, and already shot, a new MGM+ series based on the Robin Hood legend. The show was described in TVLine, by showrunner John Glenn, as a “sweeping, romantic adventure, a modern take of the classic tale that brings historical authenticity, psychological depth, and a heightened focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian.” Tom will have a recurring role in the first season as Rob's father, Hugh Locksley, a Saxon forester.
