In honor of Juneteenth, HBO has announced that this weekend, from Friday, June 19th through Sunday, June 21st, viewers will be able to watch the Watchmen series for free on HBO.com and VOD (video on demand), whether they subscribe to the channel or not. If you are a subscriber, the network will be airing a marathon of the series beginning on Friday at 1pm ET/PT. HBO Max subscribers already have access to the series.
Juneteenth celebrates the ending of slavery in the United States. In Galveston, Texas, on June 19th, 1865, Union soldiers landed with news of the end of the war and the Emancipation Proclamation, over 2 years after President Lincoln's executive order.
