Sleepy Hollow in the News and Another Sneak Peek

When we last left our heroes, they had slapped some cuffs on Headless and had him where they wanted him.  Now the question remains - how do you talk to someone with no head?  The answer to that question and more will be revealed tonight, according to EP Alex Kurtzman in TV Guide:

Now that Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod have trapped Headless, they'll stop at nothing to find his weakness in order to kill him — a feat that won't be easy. But in doing so, Ichabod may uncover some truths that should've stayed buried. "[Headless] may have been a man," Kurtzman teases. "He may have been tempted by something, something we might all be tempted by. That tricky Moloch, he always promises you the thing that no one else can give you, but the question is: What's the price tag associated with it?"

In order to interrogate Headless, Abbie and Ichabod will enlist Andy (John Cho) to help them. But it remains to be seen whether they can really trust him since he also works for the horned demon Moloch. "The answer to that question will be revealed over the course of the season," Kurtzman says.

We'll also get more of Ichabod's backstory:

But viewers will get some answers sooner rather than later since Sleepy will also dive more into Ichabod's past after he decided to change sides to help the colonies. "We're going to find out more about his history with Katrina [Katia Winter], about his friends, what he gave up back home and what his life was like before he was shipped off to the colonies," Kurtzman says. "He definitely has people he left behind."

Time magazine's TV Critic James Poniewozik says this episode is as good a place as any to jump in, if you aren't already watching it:

Tonight’s Sleepy Hollow episode, “Necromancer,” is a humdinger in terms of expanding the show’s mythology: without giving anything away, Ichabod (Tom Mison) gets answers from the captured headless horseman (who we already know is Death, one of the biblical horsemen of Revelation). If you’ve managed not to try the show yet, it’s as good a place as any to close your eyes, take a jump, and land bareback on the runaway stallion of its plot.

He also has some wonderful things to say about the show in general, after warily approaching it at the beginning of the season:

We’re two months into the season, and I’m ready to render a verdict: it’s ridiculously good. But I don’t want to give you the wrong impression: this is not just a case in which the premise and storyline of the show is so insanely out-there–though it is, oh Lord it is–that you just have to suspend intellectual judgment and enjoy it. It has also become an entertainment that’s simply good by the regular old good-TV standards of character, performance, and emotion.
