In the frenzied heat of midsummer, a family – Graham, Caroline and their son, Thomas – struggle to re-start their battered car in the remote French countryside.
Burnt-out from the stress of renovating their failing guesthouse, it isn’t long before the recriminations start flying. Just as the argument reaches fever pitch, however, the pair are rescued by two affable looking Frenchmen (Louis and Jean-Luc) who offer to tow the family back to their home.
The strangers seem friendly, but the couple are unnerved when Louis delivers an obscure warning: the woods around their isolated home are famously infested with dangerous wild animals – boars, wild pigs and even wolves. Anxious not to seem negligent, Graham swiftly sets about arming the family. Caroline, however, soon perceives that something altogether more sinister is afoot…
A chilling chain of events is soon unleashed that will force both partners to confront the dark heart of their fractured relationship.
